This might sound like a fairy tale and maybe it is…
One winter Monday, Didier and I decided to go skiing in the "white reserve" of Limone, Italian Alps.
We then decided to look for a local restaurant to try some Italian specialities, and were directed to the
" Cascata ".
We were instantly captured by the location, a frozen-over waterfall, the snow-frosted trees, the metallic blue sky and only 100 meters from the slopes.
We were in another world! (One we'd been searching for, for the past few years.)
During the meal, sitting close to the potbelly woodburning stove, Catarina, the Queen of polenta, now explained to us her desire to hang up her apron and sell her property.
That's when it happened, Didier and I looked at each other, like we do when a light bulb goes off…
Another dream is in the making..
We must restore this Alpine lodge and preserve the source of wellbeing!
So after the harsh cold winter, the excitement mounted. Didier dreaming of an eagle's nest and me of the typical old American log cabins, like back home.
Well after the dream, come the first drawings. The development potential is enormous!
The team comes together, to realise the " WonderFall Chalet ".
An eccentric Italian architect, a Sardinian builder, and Pierre the passionate French supervisor get to work to make our dream come true.
The structures will be traditional to the Piemonte area. The inside will take us to the heart of 7 U.S. states.
Each suite bearing the name and the look of Montana to Wyoming, going through Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Dakota without forgetting Texas of course.
